Important notice on upcoming changes to e-prescribing and e-filing

Axiom Insurance Company would like to inform you that when filing insurance claims for reimbursement of expenses for medicinal products under health, medical, travel and accident and sickness insurance, as well as for the expenses for medicaments and drugs partially paid by the NHIF, it is necessary to submit an Outpatient Sheet with detailed information about the therapy prescribed by the GP or the doctor who conducted the examination.

The current requirement is in connection with the forthcoming changes in the issuance and execution of electronic prescription and the entry into force of the amendments to the REGULATION No. 4 OF 4 MARCH 2009. PRESCRIPTION AND RELEASE OF MEDICINAL PRODUCTS from 18.12.2020.

What to do if an Insured event occurs?

You need to notify us and file a claim. The deadlines for reporting and the method of filing are described in the insurance contract. In any case, we recommend that you call us as soon as possible after the incident.

What should I do if I need urgent medical care and/or emergency treatment outside of working hours?

During non-working hours, you can visit a chosen by you medical facility for urgent or emergency medical care. Please, gather all medical and financial documents for the health care goods and services used. Expenses shall be reimbursed under the terms of your Insurance.

When should I take out Medical Insurance for foreigners in Bulgaria?

When entering or transiting through the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria, it is necessary to have Medical Insurance for foreigners.

I shall be traveling abroad for planned medical treatment. Will Travel Insurance policy cover my medical expenses?

This is one of the exclusions under Travel Insurance and these medical expenses will not be covered. The insurance does not cover medical expenses incurred for the purpose of planned treatment, as well as does not include the treatment expenses for any pre-existing condition or illness.
